01
Survey and Test
We attend within 48 hours, measure the foam depth, identify whether it is open cell or closed cell, and take moisture readings on every rafter. You get a written report with photographs and a fixed price, usually the same day. There is no charge for the survey.
02
Contain the Loft
On day one we lay protective sheeting, seal the loft hatch and set up negative air machines and air scrubbers. This keeps foam dust and any isocyanate residue out of your bedrooms and kitchen. Expect the loft to be out of use for the duration.
03
Cut and Extract Foam
Foam comes out with a spray foam removal saw, oscillating multi-tool and, on stubborn closed cell sections, dry ice blasting. An industrial vacuum runs continuously. A typical three-bedroom semi takes two to three days; a large detached barn conversion can run to five.
04
Clean and Treat Timbers
We wire-brush residual foam from the rafters, treat any early timber rot with a fungicidal wash, and replace sections that have gone soft. Every timber is re-checked with a moisture meter. This stage usually adds one day to the schedule.
05
Ventilate and Certify
We reinstate the ventilation path at eaves and ridge, fit breathable insulation to spec, then issue your removal certificate and photographic pack. Most customers receive the paperwork within 24 hours of the final inspection, ready to send straight to their lender.
